Hey i just found the mod today as a solution to help me regain my progress since i got a new pc, mostly because i've also found a save file but i want to change the MC name which i saw you mentioning was possible with the mod on reddit. I've followed the install instructions but nothing pops up in my game, not just the MC name change, but the whole mod itself doesn't seem to work for me.
Okay, first and foremost: The mod can have you start the game at any chapter with a name of your choosing, but it can't modify a name of a save you already have.
For that purpose I recommend URM: The MC's first name is stored in a variable called "mc"; use URM do change it and you're golden. Similarly, "lastname" stores the MC's last name and "nickname" stores his pseudonym inside Eternum.
Now, if you still want to use my mod: Installation should be pretty straightforward, just put one of the mod's .rpa files into your "game" folder and that's it. What players sometimes don't realize is that the mod is intentionally keeping a low profile, it's not always obvious that you have it installed. Go to the preferences and look to the right side, if there's a set of options titled "Passive Walkthrough", the mod is installed.
Finally, the hidden feature for starting at any chapter can be accessed by clicking the N of Eternum five times on the title menu. But only if you have the mod installed! I chose to make it a hidden feature, because using it makes your playthrough a lot less personal imo, even when you do customize your name. It's a cheat code, and that's how I'm treating it.

You're saying that you "played on a older version and then downloaded a new one here". That's quite vague. What you definitely shouldn't do is treat this mod as an upgrade for your game. Mod version 0.8.6m1 really only works for Eternum 0.8.6, you can't use it on an older version, like Eternum 0.7.5. You can download new versions of Eternum here.
But if you're sure that you've matched the versions properly and are still having trouble, you have to send me a screenshot of the "script looking thing", otherwise I won't be able to tell what's wrong.
Hello, Was this the mod that allows you to skip ahead in the game and start from the beginning of a certain chapter. if so, how can i do it? I already played through the main game on my pc, and want to have the game on another computer. Thank you, (love the mod btw)
Can't you transfer your saves instead? In the game's "game" folder, you'll find a "saves" folder. You can copy it and place it into your other computer's "game" folder to keep playing with your saves.
The mod does have a secret feature, where you can start playing from any chapter, but I usually discourage using it, that's why I keep it mostly secret. Starting from any chapter feels like loading someone else's save; it's less personal than when you got there yourself. I usually recommend just playing Eternum again from the start, the game is entertaining enough, that you can play it many times!
But if you really want the secret sauce: You can click/tap on the N of eterNum on the title screen five times to bring up chapter selection.
Sorry, but right now I have no plans to make this mod available in languages other than English and Chinese. Whenever there's an Eternum update I only have a limited amount of time to update my mod; the more promises I make, the less likely it becomes that I can keep them. I probably would've agreed if this were a one-and-done project.
Sorry to disappoint you. Please understand that I'm working with limited resources. However, for my other projects Russian is not off the table yet! I just need enough demand and a Russian volunteer to cooperate with.
Hello Tanxui, I'm playing version 0.8.6 of this game and I just installed your mod. Because I'm in the ongoing story like (0.1 based on your Bonus WT) but when I started the second chapter (0.2) and play awhile. I check the log and notice that the log doesn't show anything but 0.2 on the screen. How can I fix that? (I currently at 2.2 based on your WT pdf now)
Hello Pro, the log can only record choices while you have my mod installed. So if you installed the mod and then continued an ongoing playthrough, the log won't know what happened before. That's why I provided the bonus WT, so you can look over the decisions you made earlier.
Also, the log will NOT record any choices you make that are either optimal or insignificant. These would just add clutter for little benefit. So if your log is mostly empty that's a good sign!
If you're unsure whether everything works as intended, just make an obviously bad decision and check whether it shows up in the log! You can then roll that decision back afterwards or just load a save. Hope this helps!

That's right, PWT 0.8.6m1 is not compatible with Eternum 0.8.5. If you use the Itch app to download my mod, you can afterwards manage your download and then switch to an older version.
The Itch app is only available on PC! If you don't have access to a PC and need an older version for Android, you can find and DM me on Discord, I'm on Cari's Discord server.

But there's a problem, I can't see the butterfly. I can see the log and everything but not the butterfly (Auto-Dismiss is off / I used LT.rpa) would appreciated if you could help me! Even if I'm following your walkthrough so it should be fine
Hi, the butterfly icon will only appear when you actually make a mistake; it's not there all the time!
You're not the first who got confused by this; I think I'll add some clarifications. On PC there are additional clarifications when you hover over the butterfly setting, but there is no such thing on Android.
EDIT: I now turned the butterfly screenshot into a gif; that'll hopefully make it clearer for new players!
Does that have anything to do with the mod? People have been asking a lot of questions about just Eternum in here lately. What you're describing sounds more like a problem with the loudspeaker or headphones you're using.
Eternum? Nobody knows, probably in winter this year. You can join Cari's discord server, where he maintains a progress bar for the next episode's development.
You're still trying to install just vanilla Eternum? It's impossible for me to diagnose the issue from afar, but some Android devices just struggle with the video and audio included in the game. They can't play any audio and randomly crash. If your issues persist, maybe try playing Eternum on another device, maybe even on a PC.
If you're installing Eternum the first time you don't need to go to "Android/data" at all. You should read the beginning of each section to find out whether it even applies to your situation.
That's okay, I can help you out. The basic instructions on the page say: "Download, then extract/decompress the zip file, then read the install_instructions txt file contained inside for further instructions!"
So I suggest you try to follow these instructions. If you're not sure how to do something, first try asking Google or an AI. And if they can't help you out, then you can ask me.

Then when you see the files that were contained inside the zip file, you need to open the install_instructions.txt file. A simple txt editor like Notepad will suffice. And then you follow the instructions inside that file. With me so far?
If you need further help, please also tell me which operating system you're using in your next post. The possible options are Windows, MacOS, Linux, or Android. Which one is it?
However, a strange bug appears when I use this mod in combination with the feature mod. The smartphone on the left side of the screen is missing. Calypso's picture is visible on the heart screen, but the smartphone is removed. Interaction with the smartphone (achievements, pictures etc.) is unfortunately not possible.

So far the reasoning has been that my mod is more purist and targeted at new players while theirs is more augmentative and targeted at long term players. I assumed that the group of people who want both is quite small.

That's odd. This version of the mod is not officially cleared to be used with the Chinese translation but it should theoretically work regardless, albeit with English text.
Maybe you're unsure on how to use the mod. The butterfly only appears when you make a suboptimal decision! It's not there all the time. The log access button is on the character overview screen, click on the hearts in the top left and then the "Log" button should be on the right. That is, unless you've disabled one of them in the settings!

Sounds like file corruption. First, uninstall the mod and see if the game runs without it. If it does, redownload the mod & install it anew. Pls let me know if that helps!
EDIT: Now that I read your post again it seems like you didn't get as far as I was assuming. When exactly does that error message come up? If your browser is giving you that message and restarting your device doesn't help, try downloading with a different browser. But if the game itself is giving you that message, try the steps I described above.

And if everything goes as planned, there will be a (Simplified) Chinese translation available as well! Though I can't rule out delays on that one, I'll update this post if delays become likely.
UPDATE: It got informed that the Chinese translation of vanilla Eternum will get delayed by a few days and since the translation of my mod depends on it, I'll have to delay it as well. The English version of the mod will still release on time through!

Right now, the mod only works with the unmodified, English version of the game. I've taken note of your interest, maybe there will be support for Chinese in the future, but I can't make any promises.
I move the desired file to the “game” folder, go into the game, press N 5 times and nothing happens. I downloaded the official and latest version of the game.
Are you clicking on the big N of "Eternum" on the title screen or are you pressing the N key on our keyboard? Because you need to do the former. It had to be something that also works on touchscreens :P

Okay, thanks! My initial guess would be that either your game files or the mod files are corrupted somehow. If you haven't tested it yet, uninstall the mod again and see if the game runs without it. If you see the same error, the game files are prbly corrupted and you need to redownload them, make sure that the zip you've downloaded is about 7.5 GB large.
If the game runs fine without the mod, then I'd ask you to do the same thing, but with the mod this time. Redownload it and make sure the zip is about 29 MB large, then try installing the mod again and see if that worked.
The mod is great and spoiler free, really useful. So thank you.
But i seem to have a problem. From the screenshot you have shared we can see a lot of choices being logged after version 0.1, but when i opened my log box, only the Intro option (with the pregnancy content) was logged....other than that no other options were logged. Will this result in a problem in the future? Plz help
Thanks for the kind words! No, what you're experiencing is completely normal. As you can see, most of the entries you see in the screenshot are white (not grey), which means that the player made a suboptimal choice there. If they had made better decisions, these entries wouldn't exist. So if you don't have them in your log, that means you're doing well!
This was an intentional design choice, to help you focus on what's most important. I assume that most players make the best choices most of the time. If every single choice had an entry in the log, it would be a lot more chaotic.
And i also did wonder if it every recorded every single choice then it would become difficult to find out where we went wrong. So, good thinking on that part.
Just started using this, so don't know how well it works yet, but based on the description it's EXACTLY what I've ALWAYS wanted for VNs. Spoiler free, perfect runs to get all the scenes without having to constantly flip back and forth to a walkthrough? Yes please. Thank you!

I hear a clicking sound in the lewd scenes. Every thrust, a loud clicking sound. Anyone know why, and how can i solve it?

Uh can you help me I downloaded it on pixel drain and I downloaded the zarchiver but when I click the android then data I didn't see the eternum zip

After I unzip the file and try to use any of the two mods it gives me the message.
Are you trying to install one of the rpa files with your apk installer? That won't work! Please read the ModManual file I included with the mod files.

Are you clicking on the big N of "Eternum" on the title screen or are you pressing the N key on our keyboard? Because you need to do the former. It had to be something that also works on touchscreens :P
If you go to the preferences and see a set of options called "Passive Walkthrough", you can be quite certain that the mod installation was successful.

Okay, thanks! My initial guess would be that either your game files or the mod files are corrupted somehow. If you haven't tested it yet, uninstall the mod again and see if the game runs without it. If you see the same error, the game files are prbly corrupted and you need to redownload them, make sure that the zip you've downloaded is about 7.5 GB large.
If the game runs fine without the mod, then I'd ask you to do the same thing, but with the mod this time. Redownload it and make sure the zip is about 29 MB large, then try installing the mod again and see if that worked.

But i seem to have a problem. From the screenshot you have shared we can see a lot of choices being logged after version 0.1, but when i opened my log box, only the Intro option (with the pregnancy content) was logged....other than that no other options were logged. Will this result in a problem in the future? Plz help
Thanks for the kind words! No, what you're experiencing is completely normal. As you can see, most of the entries you see in the screenshot are white (not grey), which means that the player made a suboptimal choice there. If they had made better decisions, these entries wouldn't exist. So if you don't have them in your log, that means you're doing well!
This was an intentional design choice, to help you focus on what's most important. I assume that most players make the best choices most of the time. If every single choice had an entry in the log, it would be a lot more chaotic.

And i also did wonder if it every recorded every single choice then it would become difficult to find out where we went wrong. So, good thinking on that part.
